PHYSIC 640: Scientific Computation

This course introduces the student to computational methods for solving physics problems. Topics include root finding, interpolation, numerical differention and integration, solving systems of linear equations, matrix factorization and digonalization, and a variarty of explicit and implicit techniques for the numerical solution of ordinary and partial differential equations. Matlab is used for implmenting the numerical techniques and visualizing the results.

When Offered: This class is offered in the Fall semester in every even numbered year.
