An introductory treatment of the physics of light, including a variety of applications. When Offered: This class is not currently offerred – check with the physics office for future semesters. Topics Covered: Geometrical optics, interference and diffraction of light, electromagnetic wave theory, polarization, propagation of light in dispersive media and crystals, optical instruments, holography, lasers.
