PHYSIC 113: Fundamentals of Physics I | |
This is the first introductory calculus-level physics class. When taking this class you also take concurrently (in the same semester) the laboratory class PHYSIC 181: PHYSIC 181 is the laboratory component of PHYSIC 113. The only exception to this is if you are enroled in a program that does not require the laboratory component. When Offered: This class is offered in Spring, Fall, and Summer semesters every year. So you do not have to take PHYSIC 113 in your first (fall) semester, but can also take this class in the spring of your first year. (In that case, if you wish, you can take the second half of introductory physics, PHYSIC 114, in the summer semester, or in the following fall.) Topics Covered: mechanics, fluids, wave motion, kinetic theory of gases, temperature and heat Note: Students may not receive credit for both PHYSIC 113-114 and 107-108.
