| Although I have retired from teaching full time at UMass, I still direct students’ research projects – primarily in the field of medical acoustics. My other interests include: theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics, magnetic properties of solids, planetary science, climate change, and environmental topics related to atmospheric physics. |

I
am currently serving as scientific advisor to the start-up company,
Stethographics, Inc. Their research laboratories are at Faulkner
Hospital, 1153 Centre Street, Boston, MA, which is where I have
recently supervised student’s research projects in medical
acoustics/lung sounds. Briefly, the research is directed toward the
development of non-invasive methods for the detection and analysis of
lung sounds for the purpose of diagnosing lung pathology. For more
information, see the website: http://www.stethographics.com/
